Alternatives are delighted to work with Aware to source an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to join their busy marketing team. This is a hybrid role, based from the office in Dublin 2.

Founded in 1985, Aware is the national organisation providing free support, education and information services to people impacted by depression, bipolar disorder and related mood conditions. With a strong national profile and a nationwide remit, Aware play a key role in Ireland’s mental health support structures, and this Digital Marketing Manager is a key member of the team helping the organisation to deliver on its mission.

The successful candidate along with the rest of the team will deliver on an ambitious strategic plan to provide education, support and information to help people impacted by depression and bipolar disorder across Ireland. This role will be involved in all aspects of the organisation and is key to enabling them to deliver on service, education and fundraising plans.

Aware engages in extensive activity through online and offline media, so it is essential that candidates are experienced and comfortable working with both digital and traditional media. Experience of the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage but is not essential. The ideal candidate can understand and engage with the mission and can help to take the next steps in all marketing activities over the coming years.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a digital marketing plan to promote all aspects of Aware – brand, services, fundraising, campaigns and events - consistent with the strategic goals of the organization.

  • Maintain and develop Aware’s website (content, blogs, video, Images etc.) as well the volunteer-only intranet site, including reviewing and updating content with support from relevant department heads.

  • Write and source content (Digital & Video) for social media with a view to increasing Aware’s national presence. We post daily on all social media channels.

  • Work closely with the Head of Communications and Head of Fundraising to devise and implement campaigns relating to key communications and fundraising activities.

  • Manage our monthly Webinars to include working with content presenters and promotion of same.

  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information reporting on campaigns/events as appropriate.

  • Create and gather all content for Aware’s newsletters (website subscribers, webinar mailing list, volunteers, corporate partners).

  • Manage third party media and creative agencies in their supporting roles, ensuring a consistent focus on value for money in all expenditure.

  • Manage marketing budgets withing agreed parameters.


The ideal candidate will have

  • 5 years’ plus experience in a Digital Marketing Role

  • You will hold a degree in marketing (or similar field) and have a proven track record in all digital medias.

  • Strong content and communication skills are essential, prior experience in digital communication to a wide b2c audience is essential.

  • Prior experience working in the not-for-profit sector is ideal.
