Alternatives, part of the Brightwater Group, is delighted to be retained exclusively by our client, a leading international professional services firm, for the search for their Business Development and Marketing Director.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated business to business marketing professional who will play a key role in achieving the firm's strategic growth objectives and future success.

The role will be focused on driving and managing the delivery of the firm's marketing and business development strategy, design, and development.

This is a varied, interesting and challenging role, which will involve working with multiple stakeholders, and a great opportunity to be involved in a dynamic senior management team. The role encompasses all aspects of business development and marketing management as well as leading the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing and business development plans to support the firm's strategic growth programme both locally in Ireland and in International markets.

  • Manage the firm's bids and pitch support services to win and retain clients.

  • Deliver and support the key account planning and client feedback programmes.

  • Manage the BD&M and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative budgets to ensure value for all spend and to justify key marketing investment decisions.

  • Oversee the firm's external and internal communications functions including PR & media affairs, digital content management (web & social), creative services, intranet, town halls etc.

  • Manage the activation of the firm's extensive sponsorships & events portfolio both domestic and international.

  • Manage the firm's CRM and data stewardship systems.

  • Manage the firm’s Brand Strategy Plan.

  • Lead and deliver the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative.

  • Project manage the submissions process for all directories and awards.

  • Engage with and support the firm's key markets and sectors working groups to deliver BD & marketing support aligned to the firm's growth strategy.

  • Manage relationships with external partners and suppliers including web developers, brand consultants, PR agency and media.

Ideal Skills and Experience

  • At least 10 years marketing and business development management experience (preferably professional services and degree qualified).

  • Experience in leading a strategic business development and marketing function.

  • Experience in leading, coaching and leveraging the resources and capacity of a BDM team to achieve results.

  • Commercially minded with a strong understanding of the business of professional services and its growth drivers.

  • Respected strategic thinker who can collaborate successfully and add value right across the firm.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong influencing, consultative, and negotiation skills with the ability to gain credibility with senior stakeholders, peers and colleagues.

  • Sound judgement and decision-making abilities.

  • Flexible and resourceful team player with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workloads in line with changing demands.
