Alternatives are partnering with Flahavans on this exciting Senior Brand Manager role with a hybrid working model.

Since 1785, Flahavan’s have been milling oats in Kilmacthomas, making them the oldest continuing family business in Ireland. Each generation has left its mark and over the past twenty years the company has made inroads across the globe, exporting to over twenty countries. A range of branded products has been tailored to the USA, South Korea and the UK markets. Proudly the No 1 oats brand in Ireland and the UK (in the organic segment), the product range today covers hot oats, cold cereals, bakery products (flapjacks, granola) and oat drinks.
Job Description
This is a significant role in continuing to deliver against our strategic growth plan for our home market through marketing investment and dedicated consumer & shopper marketing plans. Reporting into the Marketing Director, you will work closely with our external marcomms teams and internal innovation and sales teams to devise & implement communication, promotional, portfolio and innovation strategies to increase consumer awareness, consideration and trial of our wide range of Irish retail products (Cereals, Snacks & Oat Drinks).
A minimum of 6 years FMCG brand management experience required and candidates with both commercial & communications experience strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Develop & deliver the annual brand plan to achieve business & brand targets.
  • Lead out a new brand communications platform in 2024 for the Flahavan’s master brand, to include the development of a suite on new assets (including AV) & an activation plan touching key consumer targets
  • Manage a wide team of collaborators (new marketing activity executive; out of house community executive; marketing & industry partners e.g. advertising, media & research agencies; Bord Bia Client Services)
  • Drive key NPD projects for the domestic market through our Stage Gate process & in conjunction with your innovation & sales team across all segments (Hots, Drinks  & Snacking)
  • Lead range optimisation projects including COGs improvements, renovation,  design & packaging changes for the Flahavan’s portfolio.
  • Leverage consumer research to develop genuine insight & recommendations leading to new growth initiatives (volume, profit, market share and distribution related).
  • Analyse data sources (Nielsen, Dunnhumby, EPOS etc.) to provide insight on brand performance and actions incl. monthly sales & marketing and ad hoc reviews.
  • Manage key consumer & trade events (e.g. Bloom, Catex, Oat Growers)
Performance Measures:
  • Quality of annual plans – development & implementation
  • Achievement of budgeted sales, profits and market share by geography
  • Project ownership and implementation of NPD launches
  • Quality of relationships with colleagues, agencies & distributors
Qualifications
  • A team player that can work cross-functionally (particularly with the external agencies, sales team, finance & innovation).
  • Can establish consumer & customer insights.
  • Is commercially minded, awareness of a P&L.
  • Prior experience & success in advertising creative development and social media management with a good understanding of performance metrics and ROI for both.
  • Proactive self-starter who can work at pace, take ownership & make things happen.
  • First class communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work with ambiguity, be flexibly minded and offer innovative solutions.
