Media and Public Relations Manager
Alternatives are delighted to be partnering with a leading public sector body, specialising in children's health, who are currently looking to recruit a Media and Public Relations Manager to join their team on a short term basis.
Based from a range of sites across the greater Dublin area the role will suit an experienced Media, Public Relations or Communications professional who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. You will have previous experience in managing and leading on media queries as well as having some excellent content and writing skills.
This role is hybrid / flexible with at least 1 – 2 days being required on – site in Dublin.
Day to day duties include
Handling national and international press queries and responses.
Media management – preparation of statements, briefings, press conferences.
Provision of media relations advisory service to internal clients.
Co-ordination of Press in emergency management.
Management of proactive and reactive media relations.
Stakeholder engagement for Media relations
Liaise with relevant bodies, key stakeholders and external agencies as required.
Contribute to the evaluation of campaign and initiatives.
Participate in the Media roster.
Write and create external publications
Requirements include
A Degree Qualification (QQI Level 8) in a relevant Business field (i.e. Journalism, Business, Communications, Finance).
Experience in the area of Media in relation to digital progression from traditional to online Media.
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a senior decision making role.
Knowledge and experience in relation to dealing with media operations and project management.
A logical and pragmatic approach to workload, delivering the best possible results with the resources available.
Ability to make sound decisions with a well-reasoned rationale and to stand by these.
Initiative in the resolution of complex issues.
Have demonstrated capacity to achieve results through multi-disciplinary and cross-sectoral working in a related service.
This is a contact role and will suit a candidate who is immediately available to commit to a full time role for a time period of 3 months initially – March 2023 – May 2023.
