Communications Officer
Our client, a leading University, is currently looking to hire an experienced Internal Communications Specialist to join their rapidly expanding Corporate Services Division.
Reporting to the University’s Chief Operating Officer the successful candidate will take the lead on all internal communications, initiatives, strategy and communications from the Corporate Services Division to diverse audiences while complimenting its overall objectives, and those of the university.

The role is being offered on a 5 year fixed term contract and the successful candidate should be available to be in the office, in Dublin Central, 3 – 4 days per week, working from home the remainder of the week.

Day to day duties include

  • Development of an internal communications strategy

  • Evaluate the success and impact of communications projects and campaigns presenting results for review to the senior management team.

  • Set targets to drive continuous improvement

  • Plan, record (including updating relevant information management systems), measure, and report on activity (monthly, quarterly, and annually).

  • Manage communication initiatives and an annual calendar of initiatives

  • Ensure departmental managers are equipped to deliver messaging and

  • communications to their team members.

  • Keep track of budget relating to communications, act as the liaison with third-party suppliers, overseeing procurement, ordering and following-up with suppliers.

  • Preparing briefing notes to the COO, gathering data for FOI and media requests


Experience

  • Third-level qualification and/or professional accreditation in Communications / Public Relations or a field relevant to the work conducted (Essential).

  • Five years’ experience in communications or public relations (Essential).

  • Experience working in a service oriented diverse environment (Essential).

  • Experience working with professionals at all levels from diverse backgrounds (Essential).

  • Excellent writing skills: ability to explain complex topics, to a wide, diverse audience (Essential).

  • Experience developing and implementing internal communications strategies and plans (Essential).

  • Proficient computer skills: MS Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher) and G-suite (google office software) (Essential)
