A Marketing Communications Officer opportunity has become available with an NGO based in West Dublin with a hybrid approach to work. What you will do:

 

  • Identifying, packaging and pitching compelling media stories to promote the work of the organisation through traditional and digital media channels, in line with the priorities of a five year development plan.

 

  • Writing and distribution of press releases; briefing and preparation of spokespeople; and co-ordination of arrangements for media interviews, promotional opportunities and photocalls.

 

  • Developing strong relationships with the media, key decision makers and other important stakeholders

 

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of large-scale national events in co-operation with internal and external partners including flagship events

 

  • Actively pursuing all promotional opportunities by events  nationwide and the work of the organisation in general.

 

  • Developing and maintaining a strong brand identity for and contributing to the future development of the brand

 

  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships and resources where necessary to support brand compliance and adherence to brand guidelines

 

  • Working with internal stakeholders to generate new ideas to develop and distribute innovative promotional material and to facilitate the production of branded merchandise as appropriate.

What you need to do the job:

 

· A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience preferably in communications, PR, journalism, marketing or digital communications

  • Experience in media relations with extensive knowledge of the Irish media landscape and established media relationships.
  • Experience of large-scale event management.
  • Experience of social media and website management
  • Experience in the use of Content Management Systems.
  • Demonstrates strong creative and technical capabilities with exceptional writing skills
  • Excellent standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be proactive, use own initiative and work effectively within a pressurised environment.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills and an ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with a wide range of contacts and build effective working relationships.
  • Access to a car and full driving licence.
