Director of Digital has opened up in TV3.

TV3 is looking to recruit a Director of Digital to lead the Group’s online business strategy.  We want a person with the ambition, drive and foresight to ensure TV3 can become the leading Digital Player in the Irish Market and beyond.  TV3’s digital platform is award winning, class leading and very popular in Ireland.  We want a candidate who can transform it into a major business in its own right.

Reporting to: Commercial Director   

Main tasks: 

·         To develop our Digital Strategy and implement same

·         To develop a strategic framework to ensure TV3 Group’s digital editorial content continues to develop, innovate and meet changing audience needs in order to reflect the full range, scale and quality of TV3 content

·         To build understanding of digital opportunities throughout the TV3 group

·         To maintain understanding of the latest digital opportunities and trends in consumer interaction and inspire the organisation with those possibilities

·         To take full responsibility for all online content

·         To devise strategies and initiatives to drive growth in traffic

·         To build upon, grow and enhance our digital offering

·         To lead, manage, and develop the digital team

·         To focus on developing new and challenging editorial propositions across digital platforms with the aim of building audiences on new platforms and entering new markets 

·         To manage the internal content authors to ensure that our website and social media presences meet high editorial usability and effectiveness standards

·         To support the development of initiatives that build our brand

·         To create a leading edge analytical test and learn culture within the digital area

·         To ensure compliance with all legal and best practice standards

·         To evaluate customer research, market conditions and competitor data and amend our strategy as appropriate

Employee Specification 

Essential 

·         At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a digital environment

·         A strategic understanding of how audience consumption will continue to evolve

·         Experience in managing people and budgets

·         Sound commercial focus

·         A solid editorial background with experience in the media environment

·         An in-depth knowledge of how content can be consumed across technological platforms

·         A track record of building and realising strategic digital initiatives

·         Strong leadership skills

·         Ability to influence at a senior level   

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Ability to forge effective working relationships with colleagues across a wide range of disciplines and seniority

·         Proactive and innovative

·         Ability to analyse and interpret data

·         Strong understanding of SEO

·         A relevant degree while not essential will be an advantage
