We help when ordinary people are visited by circumstances that require them to take on the role of caring for a relative, partner or friend at home. While caring for somebody can be a personally rewarding experience, many face isolation, reduced opportunity, poverty and poor health. Founded in 1987, our vision is that Ireland’s 161,000 family Carers be appropriately supported in their role with accredited training, advice & emotional support, and in-home respite for carers in high dependency situations at times of urgent need. The Carers Association advocates for a better quality of life for family Carers through recognition of the value of their contribution to Ireland’s social economy.
