About
So what’s Alternatives Marketing for Change Programme all about?
The Alternatives Marketing for Change programme enables skilled marketers to volunteer their marketing skills for the charity sector. Since the programme began the Marketing for Change volunteers have helped deliver results for charities such as The Hope Foundation, World Vision Ireland and Temple Street Children’s Hospital to name but a few.
As marketing specialists, our core business is providing excellent marketing talent to client companies on an interim and permanent basis. Interim Marketing gives organisations a fresh solution for any marketing resourcing problem. We have seen how our interim model has been able to benefit charities on a volunteer basis, ensuring each cause gets the marketing skills it deserves and hence the reason the programme was developed.
How did it all get started?
It all started with Alternatives founders Sandra and Aldagh after spending some time in Haiti learning about strategic CSR from the world-renowned Prof. Kellie McElhaney of Berkley University California. Amongst her many inspirational stories and learning’s was the nugget:
“CSR is not how companies spend the money they make, it’s how they make the money they spend"
After this trip both Sandra and Aldagh challenged themselves with how Alternatives could apply our key business competency of providing excellent marketing talent to make a real difference. Interim marketing gives organisations a fresh approach for any marketing resourcing problem and so it was obvious that we could use our interim model in the same way to benefit charities on a volunteering basis.

People often think that volunteering is about going overseas or fundraising, with collection boxes etc. While these are part of volunteering there are other things that people can do.
Volunteering is about offering HELP and with Alternatives Marketing for Change Programme we have received just that and now with this programme together we are a making a difference.
